If you’re looking to make some extra cash, more times than not, you’ll run into some site about online surveys.

Talking about how you can make a decent part time income with them. But how much do online surveys really pay, and is it worth it?

Well the first thing I want to say about surveys are, they’re definitely digit.

But are they worth it?

Well that’s a totally different question. In this article I plan on sharing with you a bit of my experience with taking online surveys.

Also, what to look for when choosing survey sites, and some alternatives to them.

How Much Can You Make? - My Personal Experience

The obvious answer to this is, the amount of money you make is dependent on the amount of surveys you’re able to complete.

But of course an answer like this is never enough. So the best I can do is share my experiences as someone who has tried the whole online survey gig.

Please note that my experiences may differ from others.

There are some that make a few thousand dollars in a month, and there are some who make less than a hundred.

Regardless of the amount, those who are doing well, I can guarantee you that they’re putting in a ton of work.

For me, when I started looking into taking online surveys, I had a part time kickboxing instructor job.

But I was looking for a way to make part time money without having to work for someone. So when

I looked into surveys, I was confident that this was the answer. I applied to every survey site I could find that didn’t look sketchy.

After the first week, I quickly realized that this was going to be a lot harder than I thought. There were a few things that I learned about taking online surveys.

You have to be qualified first

Regardless of which survey site you sign up for, many of them have you take a small questionnaire to see if you fit their demographic.

These questionnaires can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes. So you can end up wasting a lot of time just to find out if you qualify or not.

And trust me, there is nothing worse than spending 10 minutes only to find out you don’t qualify.

But even if you are qualified, you can spend 10 minutes getting pre-qualified, then have to spend another 10-20 minutes fillings out the actual survey.

The higher the payout, the longer the survey...SOMETIMES

When searching for which surveys to complete, most sites will give you a range of the amount you will receive if you complete the survey.

Some may also give you an estimate of how long it will take to complete the survey.

This is great because you have an idea if the survey is worth taking or not, assuming you get qualified of course.

But at least you have the option of choosing.

You’re paid in either cash or points

Depending on the site, these are the two options in which you will be awarded.

Many sites will let you know how you will be paid before taking the survey. Some sites award you points that can be converted into cash.

Basically each survey you complete will award you a certain amount of points.

You then are given a chart that lets you know how much cash you can convert your points into.

What To Watch For When Choosing Survey Sites To Join

There are many legit survey sites out there, but there are also some you want to avoid.

Since there are so many to name, the best thing for you to do is read reviews of sites that you happen to come across.

Reviews are the best way to find out if a site is worth trying or not. You will learn about how and when they pay.

Also, be careful of sites that promise you unrealistic sums of money, require you to pay to sign up to take their surveys, or require unnecessary information.

Most legit sites will never mention that you can make a living taking survey. The most they will do is give you a range of how much you can make with a particular survey.

If you can follow these tips, you should have very little issue finding the right survey for you.

Is it Worth It?

It really does depend on what your expectations are, and how badly you need the money. Like I mentioned earlier, don’t expect to make a living doing surveys.

It’s mainly for extra cash you may need for the short term. Deciding if it’s worth it to you or not, I think will depend on the person.

For me, I found it not to be worth it. My expectations were to make part time income, and I found it extremely difficult.

Believe it or not, I’ve done about 100 surveys and probably made about $40, and haven’t even collected it.

I just got tired of doing the surveys and making very little money. So if you have the willpower to put in the work for very little pay, then by all means do it.

But for me, I had to find alternatives.

Alternatives To Online Surveys

If you don’t think doing online surveys is for you, then I would suggest other ways in which you can make money online.

Some if not all these methods require some work, but the potential can be massive. Each method can be done online for your convenience. Some alternatives to online surveys are:

  • Niche Blogger
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Freelance work (i.e, writing, design, etc.)
  • Online Tutor
  • Virtual Assistant

Each method is a great alternative to online surveys if you possess any of these skills. Even if you don’t, you can learn how to acquire these skills and use them to your advantage.

I can promise you that if you’re able to, you can make a whole lot more doing these things, than online surveys.

How I Earn My Money Online

In 2018, I finally became a Six Figure Business, and it only took 27 months to get there. This allowed me to leave my part time job, and become a full time affiliate marketer.
