6 Fitness Website Ideas – For Personal Trainers

Coming up with fitness website ideas for your personal training business can be tough.

Finding ways in which to provide your readers with helpful information, while at the same time making money can be a real battle.

Obviously you don’t want it to seem like you’re only about the money. So you try to provide helpful information for them.

But you run a business and have bills to pay, so making money will be high on the priority list.

So my goal is to provide for you some tips on how to both help people, and make money at the same time.

By helping people, you will find that people are willing to purchase from your site because of the help you’ve provided.

So below are some ideas for your fitness website to help grow your personal training business.

Create High Value Content

What I mean by high value content is focus on creating content that helps your readers.

When users are searching on the internet, it’s usually because they’re looking for answers. Answers to questions they haven’t been able to find themselves.

Whether it be in regards to their health, finances, or something that involves having fun.

Whatever the reason is, it’s up to you to provide the solution if they happen to be visiting your website.

The trick when creating content is figuring out how to help people and still make money doing it. So it’s important to write about topics that get people to buy things.

Some topics can include:

  • Reviews on products/services you promote on your site
  • How To Guides
  • Fit tips that keep them coming back to your site

Think about it, how often do you search on google for things you want to buy. You probably type “product” + “review,” click on the first link that catches your eye, then read it.

If what you’re reading answers your question about the product, you probably end up making a purchase.

And the reason you made the purchase was because that person provided you with high value content.

If you can solve the problem any reader has when visiting your site, they will reward you by making a purchase.

Record Training Sessions With Clients and Post On Your Website

As a personal trainer, other than writing, video is another piece of content you want to have on your site.

Having video of you training other clients is a great way to get potential clients to hire you as their trainer.

When designing your site, you want to make sure you have a category built specifically for the videos you record of you training clients.

So people visiting your site know exactly where to go if they want a visual of what kind of trainer you are.

Also, the video you create doesn’t have to be training sessions only, you can also show people how to do certain exercises.

People are always wondering how to do different exercises for their workouts. This can be a great way to showcase some of your favorite ones.

Sell Products/Services

This is probably my favorite website idea since it can be so lucrative. Having a website provides you the opportunity to sell things people are looking for.

Even better, if you have something you’ve created you want to sell, you can get it in front of thousands of people with your site.

If you don’t have anything personal to sell, don’t worry, you can always sell other people’s products/services.

This type of business is called affiliate marketing. Where you sell other people products, and receive a commission for it.

No need to worry about holding any inventory. As long as you have a website, all you have to do is promote it, get people to make a purchase, and receive a commission.

Believe it or not, this type of business is a multi-billion dollar business.

There a literally 100’s of thousands of companies looking for people with websites to help promote their products.

Even Amazon has an affiliate program where you can direct your readers to go an buy from. And we all know how much people love to buy from there.

I’m sure you’ve recommended many products to your friends or family, but never received a dime for doing so.

Well with a website, you can do just that, and get paid for it.

So as a person in the fitness profession, you want to make sure to recommend products that are related to what you do.

It would make no sense to have a fitness site selling insurance right. So make sure to stick to what you’re passionate about.

Know What People Are Searching For Online

The hardest thing when selling is knowing what people are looking for.

I’m sure if you could read people’s mind, you would be able to better assist them in solving their issues right?

But what if I told you there are tools that could tell you exactly what people are searching for on the internet?

Do you think you could find a way to help them with their problems?

I’m sure you could.

Have you ever noticed when conducting a search within google, as you’re typing, sentences start to pop up as if google knows what you’re thinking?

Well they kinda do. Those sentence you’re seeing pop up are called keywords.

These are words everyone searching the internet is using to conduct their searches. Google saves them to help others who are also searching for these keywords. So in a sense, google has an idea of what you’re looking for, making your experience searching that much easier.

The cool thing about this is, there are tools that can also show you what internet users are searching for.

So imagine having a website and writing articles based on what people are searching for on the internet.

The great thing about this tool is that you can build your site out based on keywords you choose.

So as a personal trainer, if weight loss is your focus, you can search for keywords centered around weight loss.

Look for products or services to promote, and drive your followers to it.

Of course learning how to do this takes some training, but I can provide you with a program that taught me how to do just that.

If you keep reading, I promise to share with you this program.

So please be patient and let's continue with other website ideas for your personal training business.

Social Media Share Buttons

If you’re trying to get more people to visit your site, then having social media share buttons is key to doing that.

If you’re familiar with using social media platforms like Facebook or YouTube, then you know how many  potential views a piece of content can have if it goes viral.

Even if your content never goes viral, you want to give people the option to share something they like.

Also, the more people that share your site, the higher google will rank your content within the search engines.

If you take a look at all the popular websites out there, rarely will you see their sites without share buttons.

Anything that helps get more eyeballs to your site, is a very good thing.

Email List

Being able to keep in touch with customers or clients is crucial to the growth of any business.

Whether you have a brick and mortar business, or an online business, being able to keep in touch with anyone who visits is key.

So when it comes to your website, one of the best ways to do that is with an email list.

I’m sure you’ve been to many websites where they ask you to leave your email address. This is done to keep you in the loop with new topics being discussed on their site.

Now of course the majority of people probably choose not to leave email addresses.

But for those that do, this can be a great way to keep people up to date on products you may be selling.

The goal should always be to get as many people back to your site as possible.

The more traffic you can build, the more money that can be made. And building an email list is a great tool to help do that.

Do keep in mind that getting emails is a lot harder than it may seem. In order to get them to leave you their email, you have to give them something in return.

Which is why you probably see so many times people offering free gifts in exchange for your email.

So it’s important to learn and understand the email marketing game, because it can help grow your business big time.
